You will appreciate the neat and modern decoration of the Hôtel de France et de Russie. Exposed stones and framework, elegant façade accompanied by a pleasant terrace in fine weather, to have breakfast or eat at the hotel's excellent restaurant. Chef Monsieur Nicolas Cousinou offers sophisticated and original cuisine, perfectly executed and presented on plates that are as beautiful as they are delicious. Fresh, excellent quality and local products, carefully selected by the Chef, are worked to combine flavors and offer you a gourmet meal that meets your expectations (it is best to book a table in advance).

Thiviers is renowned for its award- winning weekly market, which takes place on Saturday mornings, it is the ideal place to familiarize yourself with Périgordine gastronomy : Foie-gras, truffles and walnuts, local specialties and local products that you will have the pleasure of finding at the restaurant of the hotel L'Escapade des Sens (also open to non-resident guests of the hotel).

The Hotel de France et de Russie is a 3-star establishment, completely renovated, which offers you great services and comfort conducive to relaxation. The welcome is warm and neat, Adrian and Sharon offer 11 rooms, all equipped with private bathrooms with hair dryer, flat screen TV and free WIFI. Persons with reduced mobility can stay at the hotel in one of the two disabled-labeled rooms with a direct exit to the outside.

The hotel has a pretty garden, in front of the restaurant terrace, where you can have your breakfast which consists of fresh homemade baguette, pastries, homemade yogurts, fruit juices, hot drinks.

Please note: There is private parking and a bicycle garage with electrical outlets for charging bikes.

Things to do and discover around the hotel

The Hotel de France et de Russie is well located for making the most of your stay in the Dordogne and visiting the Périgord Vert. Cycling enthusiasts will be doubly delighted: a cycle path starts from Thiviers, to reach Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière, it is a perfect place for a family bike ride and you can make a short stop to visit Saint-Jean -de-Côle, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France on the way. Confirmed cyclists will take from Thiviers, the start of the Flow Vélo, which joins the island of Aix in Charente Maritime via the Charente, a beautiful route! The hotel is accredited “Accueil Vélo”. Thiviers is also a stopover on the Chemin de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, the Vézelay route, pilgrims are welcome at the hotel! For a daily getaway, discover Bourdeilles and its two castles or Brantôme, the Green Venice of Périgord ! Further north, the Périgord Limousin PNR awaits you for beautiful hikes, aquatic leisure bases, authentic cultural and heritage visits.
